Aslan's Army

Aslan's Army - The Missionary Support Network

There are not too many things that can move me emotionally so strong as the story of Aslan's Army. Just today, we received word from this organization that they will provide a generous gift for our mission work in Romania. When I first applied, I read thoroughly what the organization stood for and had some good understanding how it got started. Today, however, I took the time to thoroughly read Malori's story. This is what I want to share with you here:

Malori Aslan Smith was 16 years when her life ended while on a mission trip to Mexico in 2002. She made it her life's goal to serve God as a missionary and went to Mexico as an intern. My words here don't do justice to her life's story, so I would encourage you to spend some time to read it online by clicking on the link above. Malori's legacy is Aslan's Army, a support network helping missionaries throughout the world financially, while also raising the awareness of missions through performing arts.

From our heart, we thank Aslan's Army for their gift and are humbled and in awe of this organization. What a tremendous witness for Christ!

My baby Camry is gone to...

... a good home! Just a few days after putting a sign in the window of the car, someone called us up and bought the car. Thankfully, I didn't even to put it in the newspaper. So, my trusty little car is gone for good now! Bye, bye!

By Dina Kyriakidou

BUCHAREST (Reuters) - An earthquake hit Romania on Wednesday night, shaking buildings in the capital Bucharest but apparently causing little damage, Reuters witnesses said.

Hundreds of people called emergency services soon after the quake struck at 11:24 p.m. (4:24 p.m. EDT), but ambulance officials told Reuters nearly all of them were suffering panic attacks and it seemed there were no serious casualties.

Addiction

I guess blogging can be as addicting as anything else. So, here I am, back to sharing a few more thoughts. In reality I am getting myself familiarized with the system.

As I mentioned earlier, on 3 Dec. 04, we will be taking off to go to Romania as missionaries. Though I am originally from Romania, this trip back to the country is not just for a couple of days or months, but long term. Our desire is to begin a medical outreach directed at young physicians. With corruption being rampant in the country, we believe we can be a witness for our Lord while at the same time be involved in community development.

As we depart for Romania on December 3, 2004, we plan on blogging our experience through this transition for our friends and family to keep up with us. So, please stay tuned for a few more day until the words cascade begins... well, at least we hope so unless we develop writer's block (a situation not too uncommon).
